Truckstock Recap

What do you get when you take one vacant lot at Sylvan Thirty, two guys with a shirt business and music truck and beautiful weather?  A successful Truckstock!

This event was the brainchild of Robert and Chad of Durty Laundry Clothing and their music truck, Def Star for their Beat Breakerz business.  Seeing the advantage of an empty lot at Sylvan and Thirty, they started inviting the trucks to participate. The response from the trucks was quick, with ultimately 16 trucks joining in, Dallas based, Ruthie's Rolling Cafe, Tin Star Taco Taxi, The Butcher's Son, Gandolfo's New York Deli, Cup-Cakin, Three Lions, Jack's Chowhoud, Little Vessel Grill, Dos Paisanos, Cajun Tailgators, Four Seasons, Rock and Roll Tacos, Nammi and with three, Lee's Grilled Cheese, Eat Jo Dawgs and Zombie's Food Truck making the drive from Fort Worth.

Throughout the day, the trucks had steady business, with only a few having lines with waits of more than 5 - 6 minutes. As with any truck event, the trucks never know what will sell until the attendees start ordering, so some trucks began selling out of some items right at two hours in, with others calling for delivery of extra supplies.

Zombie seemed to be the break-out truck of the day, with long lines and an early sell-out; Dallas proved that they will support a vegan food truck. Dallas also loves cupcakes, with Cup-Cakin Machine selling out, getting a small reload and selling out again and Three Lions is proving that Dallas loves food from the UK, with their meat pies selling out, right at the 2 hour mark. The only truck that seemed to have much down time was Dos Paisanos, in an unwrapped truck, with only a small sign for their menu.  Its a shame that more people didn't know who they were, events are always a great way to try new trucks; but with so many options people really need something to draw them in.

Beat Breakerz provided music that had people dancing while standing in line. In between hawking their tees they kept the grounds clean, emptying trash bins, talking to the media and making sure everyone was enjoying their day.

Enjoying the day was apparently to everyone and I suspect we will see another Truckstock soon.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words; for this event, I wanted to try something different, let's see how many words a video is worth.
