DFW Food Trucks To Invade San Antonio
DFW Food Truck owners, as a group, are overwhelmingly generous, with huge hearts, especially when it comes to supporting someone who has been a long time supporter of theirs. Combine this with a food truck park owner who seeks out opportunities to host charitable events and you have a food truck event that is guaranteed to make a huge impact on the entire State of Texas!
On November 10 and 11, Good Karma Kitchen, Slush Works, Nammi, Easy Slider and The Drifting Bistro are expanding the scope of their generosity and invading San Antonio, to join forces with several San Antonio trucks to raise funds to Conquer Chiari. This fund-raiser will be held at San Antonio's Boardwalk on Bulverde Food Truck Park and is being coordinated by Cameron Davies, owner of both The Boardwalk and Cruising Kitchen, a San Antonio truck builder who built Good Karma Kitchen, Slush Works, The Drifting Bistro and several other Dallas-Fort Worth food trucks.
The Invasion will run 11:00 a.m - 11 p.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. Proceeds from the event will benefit Conquer Chiari, on behalf of devoted food truck follower Michelle Malpica.
Michelle was one of my first followers and her love of the food trucks was immediately obvious to me. After a car accident in 2005, Michelle began to have significant heart palpitations, vertigo and severe head aches. After years of testing, she was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, a very rare neurological disorder where the bottom part of the brain extends out of the skull to the spinal column, putting pressure on both the brain and the spinal column. After brain surgery, Michele's prognosis is very good but much is left to be done to bring an awareness to this condition and much research is needed to more effectively diagnosis and treat the disease.
I will be posting much more about this event in the coming weeks, including information about a simultaneous event to be held in Dallas to Conquer Chiari. For those that are able, I would love for you to join me in San Antonio to Conquer Chiari as the food trucks show that their support for one of their follower is as big as Texas.
