September Events: From Weatherford to Allen and In Between

Now that the weather has cooled off slightly, the food truck events are in full swing!

Saturday, September 1

Food Trucks are in the Arts District for First Saturday. Trucks will be parked at 2121 Flora. Free admission and great family programming at Nasher Sculpture Center and the Crow Collection of Asian Art. Regular admission and great programming at the Dallas Museum of Art. For First Saturday food trucks are located at 2121 Flora. Enjoy a food truck picnic and a day at the museum. Food truck schedule:

Food Truck Rally in Weatherfod. The trucks are heading west to the Old Santa Fe Depot in the Albertson's parking lot in Weatherford from 5-10 p.m. Check out Fred’s Wagon, Good Karma Kitchen, Gandolfo’s New York Deli, The Drifting Bistro, Salsa Limon, Crazy Fish and Slush Works.

Tuesday September 4, there will be a Dallas Park Elementary School at 8700 Viridian Lane in Fort Worth. Gepetto’s Pizza and Eat Jo Dawgs will be serving and donating proceeds to the school for a very worthwhile cause. This school has many children who are in need of food at home, so the school staff has taken it upon themselves to prepare sacked meals to send home. The money that Gepetto’s and Jo Dawgs raise will be used to stock the food pantry so the teachers and principals are not reaching in to their own pockets to take care of these kids.

September 6, from 6:00 - 10:00, Easy Slider, Jack's Chowhound and Rock & Roll Tacos will be at the Gingerman for their Food Truck Block Party. Go check out their beer tastings with these tasty trucks. 2718 Boll Street in Dallas. 

Wednesday September 12, Brown bag lunches by The Dallas Opera. Enjoy a free lunch time performance of opera and dine from a food truck. Performances are from 12:00 – 1:00 in Sammons Park at the Winspear Opera House (2301 Flora). To learn more go to

Thursday, September 13 is North Texas Giving Day. On North Texas Giving Day, all donations made through will be multiplied, raising millions of dollars for local nonprofits in just one day. Last year, there was an unprecedented $10.7 million donated to over 600 non-profits, and this year we anticipate even more action. Our goal is to raise $12 million for nonprofits in North Texas. Millions of dollars raised for our North Texas Community…now that’s something to celebrate! Communities Foundation of Texas is hosting a day-long celebration on Sept. 13th! Trucks already confirmed to be on-site to serve during this celebration are:

11-2PM Ruthie’s Rolling Café – Grilled Cheese Truck, Easy Slider, Enticed, Potato Potahto, Rockstar Bakeshop

4-6PM Ruthie’s Rolling Café – Cheesesteak Truck Jack’s Chowhound

September 13, 15 & 16. Dallas most recent arts venue, City Performance Hall, a 750-seat multi-purpose hall opens in the Dallas Arts District. The hall opening will begin with an official ribbon cutting on September 13 at 11:00 a.m. After the festivities have lunch at the food trucks at the Winspear Opera House at 2301 Flora. On September 15 & 16 (all day) food trucks will be parked in front of the hall at the corner of Routh and Flora. On the evening of Thursday, September 13, the food trucks will be at “The Parking Lot” at 1800 Henderson, the location of what is now Sprouts Grocery, formerly Newflower Grocery. This month’s line up includes: Rock and Roll Tacos, Free Wheeln, Cajun Tailgators, Crazy Fish, The Lab of the Streets, Ssahm, The Bomb, The Butcher's Son, Sweetie V's, and Slush Works.

Saturday, September 22, the food trucks are coming to Allen for the “Haute Wheels Food Truck Fest”. This event, from 6 – 9 pm will benefit the Allen Professional Fire Association and Guns & Hoses of North Texas. Live music will be provide as well as tours of Humvees. FDNY Rescue 4 and 9/11 artifacts will be onsite. Trucks serving are The Butcher’s Son, Nammi, Easy Slider, Ssahm, Ruthie’s, Jack’s Chowhound, Good Karma Kitchen, Cool Haus and Rockstar Bakeshop. Admission is $5, parking is free. The event will be in the heart of Watters Creek, near The Green. Watters Creek is at U.S. 75 and Bethany Drive in Allen.

Saturday, September 22, U.S. Food Trucks celebrates the Grand Opening of their Commissary and Food Truck Park at 7508 Ambassador Row in Dallas. The Grand Opening will be from 5-9 p.m. More details about this event will be forth coming

Now for the weekly events:

Monday Night Foodball continues at 18208 Preston Road every Monday from 6-9. There are usually about nine trucks at this location each week.

Wednesday night, several locations host food trucks:

Street Food Wednesday is at the Crate & Barrel at 3104 Knox Street. The line up for this month:

The Food Truck Experience is every Wednesday from 6 -9 at Sigel’s at 5757 Greenville Ave in Dallas. Each week, Rock & Roll Tacos, Cajun Tailgators, Enticed, Good Karma Kitchen, Three Lions, Rockstar Bakeshop and Crazy Fish are serving.

Food trucks are also in Lake Highlands every Wednesday from 5 – 8, at the Eco-Op Office, 10137A Shoreline Drive. This event is sponsored by U.S. Food Trucks and they will post the line –up of trucks each week.

Camden Design District also hosts trucks on Wednesday nights at 15510 Oak Lawn in Dallas. This event is also hosted by U.S. Food trucks.

Thursday nights are just as busy as Wednesdays:

Starting September 6 and every Thursday night through October, Sammons Park will have food trucks outside the Winspear Opera House at 2301 Flora. This FREE weekly series features an eclectic lineup of emerging artists and the best bands you haven’t heard yet from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The performances, aimed at the downtown, after-work crowd, begin at 5:30 pm, adding to an already vibrant lineup of activities in the downtown Dallas Arts District on Thursday evenings. Every Thursday night from 6 -9, food trucks are in Addison at 3875 Ponte Ave. This event is sponsored by U.S. Food Trucks, who published the truck line-up on Facebook and Twitter.

From 5-8 on Thursday, food trucks are also at Camden Farmer’s Market, at 2250 Marilla. This event is sponsored by U.S. Food Trucks.

Cedars Food Truck Park continues their Food Truck Affair on Thursday nights from 6 - 10. This pet friendly event features a local brewery and has multiple food trucks that rotate each week. Check for the schedule.

On Fridays, Cedars Food Truck Park brings you Alfresco Fridays with live music, a local brewery and a weekly rotation of food trucks. Bring the family and enjoy the evening. The list of food trucks each week can be found at
